Inclusion & environment
Staff help all children to make good progress in relation to their starting points. This includes those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND). Staff work with parents and other professionals to support all children, including those with SEND.
Staff support children to develop their physical development, both indoors and outdoors. Babies enjoy using the slide and learning new ways of moving their bodies. Outdoors, children enjoy accessing the large well-resourced forest school and garden areas.
The staff who care for the children are genuinely kind and attentive. We’ve had positive experiences with them, and I would rate them 5 out of 5 stars. However, I cannot recommend the ownership or management of this facility. The business appears to prioritise its own interests over those of the children and their families. There were multiple occasions — seven days in total — when my child was not allowed to attend due to staff illness and an insufficient staff-to-child ratio. Rather than reviewing all age groups equally, management chose to send home children over 3 years old ( although staff with incident ratios were the small group) stating that they receive partial government funding. They claimed that no reimbursement could be offered for the missed days , even for full-time children, or that parents would need to pay in full and be reimbursed later. In reality, no reimbursements were ever issued. Sarah, who had previously handled communication, remained silent on the matter and refused to offer any alternative days to make up for the missed care. The fee structure is also highly unreasonable. Monthly charges fluctuate based on the number of days in the month and the funding received. Instead of evenly distributing costs throughout the year, the highest fees are charged during school holiday periods — a system that lacks transparency and fairness for parents. Overall, while the childcare staff themselves are dedicated and caring, but I cannot recommend this setting due to poor financial management , and inadequate accountability at the leadership level.
Read on GoogleMy son has attended this nursery for almost a year and adores it. The facilities are fantastic and the setting is completely aesthetically gorgeous. Sarah and the team go above and beyond to suit each child personally. Out of 3 nurseries I have experienced in my time as a mother, this is by far my favourite. They regularly cook with the children, have their own forest school on site, and personalised development goals for each child. My son has enjoyed every minute at the setting and will be sad to leave for ‘big school’ in September.
Read on GoogleI had the absolute pleasure of attending the Father’s Day session at Sarahs Little Stars today, and I can honestly say it was an unforgettable experience. From start to finish, the staff went above and beyond to make the day feel special, inclusive, and incredibly well thought-out. The activities were not only engaging but also meaningful. It was clear that a lot of care and creativity had gone into planning them, everything from the drawing table, messy play, reading tent and hands on craft encouraged real interaction and bonding between the children and their dads. It was lovely to be involved in a small part of my child’s day in such a fun and supportive environment. What really stood out was the warmth and enthusiasm of the nursery staff; they were outstanding. They were all welcoming, attentive, and seemed genuinely excited to have us there as much as we were to be there. Their dedication to creating a nurturing and fun atmosphere was evident in every detail. It’s clear how much the staff care about the children and their families, and it truly makes all the difference. Sarah’s Little Star’s isn’t a nursery it’s quite clearly one big family. The staff certainly know my child very well and just as much as myself and wife do and it is so reassuring to know that they will continually know and do what’s best for my child’s development and have her best interests at heart. She clearly loves nursery and feels comfortable to go to any staff member in her room. I certainly left with a big smile and lasting memories, roll on next year!
Read on GoogleI have been with Sarah’s little stars since April 23 and I couldn’t be happier. I’ve worked in a few nursery’s but Sarah’s little stars is by far the best setting I have worked at. All of the team are kind, caring, supportive and friendly. We work as a team and there definitely is no ‘I’ here. I know I can talk to Sarah or any of the team should I need to and they will be there for me. My little girl started with me in April too when she was nine months old. She is very happy and her development has come on massively and she continues to flourish. She loves all her teachers and often gives them cuddles. It’s lovely to see and hear about her day from the daily updates on the app. I will and always do recommend SLS to anyone.
Read on GoogleI cannot recommend Sarah's little starts enough. They look after her like she is one of their own and she continues to thrive more and more. They know her so personly and how she ticks and go with the flow with the child's individual developent which I love. Every day she goes in happy and comes out having an amazing day.
