Inclusion & environment

How they support every child

SEND provision

Overall, children make good progress in their communication skills. For instance, staff narrate as children play and sing to them during games to expose them to new words and vocabulary. However, some staff lack skills and confidence to extend children's speech to a higher level. At times, staff do not always allow time or opportunities for children to respond to questions and practise talking.

Outdoor space

Children benefit from daily outdoor play in a spacious garden, where they can run and exert themselves. Children enthusiastically jump and clap when they locate worms in the garden. They play with awe and wonder as they pretend to be bug detectives outside, shouting, 'It's magic' when they find insects.

What an amazing nursery. My little girl has been going since November and has never had a bad day. The staff are all wonderful and make each child feel valued. This is a fantastic nursery if your little one has any allergies. Mine has a dairy and soya allergy and they do so much to make the meal inclusive and varied. She eats everything they make her.

Scamps is a fantastic day nursery! Our little girl has been for there for 9 months now and is always excited when we arrive. Her keyworker and all the girls are so friendly. She is constantly developing at nursery through having fun. A lovely touch is when you arrive or leave nursery the owner and the office girls always know our little girls name and say hello.

My son has been at Scamps for nearly 2 years and he loves every minute of it!! Staff are always so kind and very attentive and I have no worries about leaving him there at all. To see how happy he is, I know he is being well looked after. From both a professional and personal level I would highly recommend Scamps to anyone looking for a great honest friendly nursery for their precious ones. Thank you Scamps 😊

Our daughter Evelyn has attended Scamps since Jan 2015 and our younger daughter is due to start this September. We did quite a lot of research before choosing this nursery and have not been disappointed. I would rate Scamps overall as excellent, as it's recent ranking as top day nursery in the North West bears out.

Both my kids (1 1/2 and 3 1/2 years old) currently attend SCAMPs and they love it. The staff are very professional, caring to the children and friendly to us as parents. There are always so many different activities for the children to do including a good balance of creative, physical, musical activities etc. You can follow the progress of your children through their learning journals and continual feedback is given daily. There is plenty of outdoor space for the children and they have recently done up the outside with some new play installations. They are always looking for ways to improve which is a great culture to have. The setting on the edge of the park is lovely and great for the kids to watch the lawn mowers and 'tractors!'
