About this day nursery

Seahorse Nurseries was founded over 25 years ago by Julia Wolfe, a mother and former army Captain, who envisioned a higher standard of early years education. The nursery focuses on purposeful play to stimulate young minds and foster crucial developmental skills.

Children are encouraged to engage in outdoor activities, embrace nature, and explore various subjects through a unique curriculum that blends learning with fun. Offerings include yoga, cooking classes, music, tennis lessons, Forest School sessions, French language learning, and exciting science experiments.

This comprehensive approach aims to provide a broad educational foundation for preschoolers. Seahorse Nurseries is dedicated to supporting its staff in building rewarding careers within a dynamic and joyful environment.

The ultimate goal is for children to leave the nursery with a genuine love for learning and the confidence to navigate the world independently.

How they support every child

SEND provision

The setting has established exceptionally strong partnerships with other agencies and professionals. This has helped them to support children with special educational needs and/or disabilities superbly. For example, staff regularly liaise with professionals to seek advice and have attended external appointments with parents where necessary, to review children's progress and set them challenging targets.

Outdoor space

The spacious outside and woodland areas support children's physical and emotional well-being and provide a wealth of stimulating and exciting learning opportunities. For example, younger children use sticks to make marks in the mud, then dig and mix it, noticing the change in texture as they add water.

Our son has been going here for several years now and I cannot praise the staff enough for their dedication to his development and happiness during his time at the nursery. He has gained many friends, young and old, and enjoyed every moment of his time here. I would highly recommend this nursery to anyone looking for a safe, loving and happy environment for their loved ones to grow and learn.
