Serendipity's Day Nursery and Pre-school in Newark operates from a spacious Victorian detached house, conveniently located opposite Newark Northgate train station and close to the town centre. The nursery provides care for children aged 0-5, with dedicated rooms for babies (0-2s), toddlers (2-3s), and pre-schoolers (3-5s).

The facility boasts an indoor soft-play room and two large outdoor play areas, including a mud-play area for younger children and a mud-kitchen, planting garden, and sand-pit for pre-schoolers. The nursery's approach focuses on individualised high-quality childcare, guided by the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework.

They aim to provide a loving and secure environment where children can explore, investigate, and reach their full potential. Serendipity's also engages with the wider community through local outings and prepares children for their transition to local schools.

The nursery offers a nutritious, homemade menu and flexible attendance options, including early starts and holiday care, with an open-door policy for visits.

Our ethos

Our aim is to give all children the best possible start to their early education. We do this by providing the highest level of care in a warm, loving environment so that they feel safe and secure to seize the opportunities provided for them. Our skilled and friendly staff team establish warm relationships with children and their families to ensure each child’s learning is tailored to their individual needs and interests. Each room in nursery has been designed to create a warm homely feel with resources and play equipment which encourage children to explore and investigate and make their own little discoveries. We are guided by Ofsted regulations and the requirements of the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage.

What it's like

Children receive comfort and affection from staff. Staff divide younger children into smaller groups to help them focus and engage during group times. Children also have opportunities to develop their physical skills, such as walking and negotiating different-level surfaces in the garden.

Pricing & funding

Fees are billed monthly in advance and cover 52 weeks of the year, including bank holidays and closures. Funded sessions for nine-month-olds and two-year-olds are subject to an additional daily or half-daily food charge, while additional hours outside of government funding are billed at a flat hourly rate.
