Shepley Pre-School (CIO) in Huddersfield, established in January 2025 (and previously known as Shepley Preschool and OOSC, registered in 1992), offers an outstanding childcare provision. Situated in a portable building within the grounds of Shepley First School, the setting provides a safe, caring, and stimulating learning environment.

Children from a young age confidently engage in self-registration and eagerly anticipate their day. The dedicated team of 15 childcare staff, including nine with Level 3 qualifications, two at Level 4, one at Level 5, and two at Level 6, ensures a high quality of education.

The pre-school operates for 47 weeks a year, Monday to Friday, from 7:30 am to 6:00 pm, and provides government-funded childcare for children aged 1 to 4 years old. The ambitious curriculum deeply engrosses children in a variety of activities, from learning about different cultures and farm animals to engaging in purposeful play and well-being programmes that support their personal, social, and emotional development.

Practitioners are highly passionate, empathetic, and enthusiastic, fostering strong attachments with the children and their families.

What it's like

Practitioners provide children with a safe, caring and exciting learning environment. From a young age, children eagerly enter the setting, separating from their parents and carers confidently. Children hang their coat and bags up and complete self-registration. They are excited for the day ahead. Practitioners are extremely passionate, caring and very enthusiastic. They get to know all children and their families very well. As a result, children form strong attachments with practitioners and are extremely happy.
