How they support every child

SEND provision

Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) make good progress. Staff work with parents and outside agencies to ensure that children receive tailored support. Parents of children with SEND report that the nursery goes 'above and beyond' to ensure that their child's needs are being met.

Outdoor space

Children are offered many experiences to support all areas of learning, including sessions at forest school. Children enjoy reading in small groups and access books independently, with books available in all areas of the nursery, including forest school. Children use non-fiction books to learn about the sounds of bird calls and then try to identify them in the woods. Staff teach children about the rules and boundaries of the nursery and forest school, including the fire pit and where they can and cannot go in the wooded area.

Our little daughter started at Barnaby’s at 1 year (almost to the day) of age. We had moved to the area around 6 months beforehand and were very lucky to get her a place at Barnabys. It’s a beautiful old barn like building surrounded by farmland and farm animals…. A young childs dream place! They get the children out to their own private woodland they show them the farm animals and they really embrace the outdoors which we loved. The staff are all fantastic, kind and caring people and our daughter clearly loved all of them particularly Janine. I used to come to pick up our daughter at the end of the day and she would always be having so much fun she wouldn’t want to come home and would run away saying no (Even once grabbing onto the door frame!😂). She absolutely loved it at Barnaby’s. Today was a sad day as we have had to move her to a new nursery with much less travel time to and from it for us. So with much sadness we say goodbye and thank you to Barnaby’s Day Nursery and it’s staff you have been fantastic and our daughter has thrived and gone from strength to strength in the 9 months she spent with you. We highly recommend this Nursery to anyone wanting the best for their little one. 5 stars all day long. Thank you 🙏.

We couldn’t have asked for anywhere better! The staff are all lovely and welcoming and really take the time to get to know the children and their parents. The space outdoors is fantastic enabling the children to play out and spend time with the animals all year round, even in the baby room.
