About this day nursery

Smart Kids Day Nursery, established in 2014 and situated in Peckham, London, provides a nurturing and engaging environment for children aged one to four. The nursery operates year-round, opening weekdays from 7:30 am to 6 pm, accommodating 36 children with a total capacity of 45.

The dedicated team of eight staff members, including a manager with a childcare qualification at level 4 and five staff at level 3, ensures a high quality of education and care. This commitment to professional development is evident in the positive atmosphere where children are happy to attend and quickly settle.

The nursery prides itself on supporting children in developing strong attachments with their key persons and fostering important skills like emotional expression and management. Staff incorporate diverse cultural elements, such as traditional songs, and provide well-sequenced learning opportunities that cater to various age groups, from strengthening small hand muscles in younger children to developing dexterity in older children through activities like cutting fruit for snack.

The manager actively monitors the service, implementing beneficial changes like "talking tents" to encourage interaction among less confident children, and works to involve parents in their children's learning, ensuring positive outcomes for all.

My daughter has attended Smart Kids since she was 14 months old. She is now in the pre school room and absolutely loves going to nursery. The opportunities at Smart Kids are really special with kids including weekly music sessions, PE and Mandarin lessons. They make good use of the park next to the setting and are often going out in the community/trips to enhance learning. I’m really happy with my daughters progress whilst attending the nursery and she loves seeing her friends and staff every week. The team do a really great job and if I’ve had any concerns they’ve been dealt with efficiently!

Hands down this is the best nursery for my son. He is so excited to go everyday and just seeing him run to the door lets me know how wonderful he feels here. The staff are amazing! They are positive, helpful, polite and great with the children. If I have any issues they get it sorted promptly and have helped me get my son any extra help he requires outside of their facilities. I will never stop singing their praises and thanking them for all they do for us and others. Highly recommended always.

We couldn’t be happier with our experience at Smart Kids Nursery. From the very first day, the warmth, care, and genuine passion of the staff have been evident in everything they do. The environment is bright, welcoming, and thoughtfully designed to inspire curiosity, creativity, and confidence in every child. Our son has been here for over a year now and he seems extremely settled and has fantastic key workers who are extremely caring towards him. I’d recommend this nursery!

My son really enjoys attending the nursery. The staff are amazing, and he’s been going since he was two years old. I’m truly grateful for the care and support they’ve given him. I would definitely recommend this nursery to others. This will be his last year as he’ll be starting reception next year, and we’re really going to miss everyone.
