About this day nursery

Smart Start Day Nursery provides quality childcare in an environment designed to stimulate and foster growth. The nursery is thoughtfully divided into two units: a dedicated baby unit with three rooms, each accommodating six babies to create a homely atmosphere, and a separate unit for two-year-olds and pre-schoolers, offering a stimulating and exciting space.

Both nursery settings are situated in private grounds, offering enriching Forest School and Pre-School experiences. The setting cultivates a serene and joyful atmosphere where each child feels secure, safe, and at home, using a friendly methodology to support strong social, emotional, and physical development through daily activities tailored to individual needs.

The fully enclosed gardens offer a secure area for outdoor play, featuring a variety of toys and activities, emphasising outdoor learning regardless of the weather. The nursery aims to create a happy, caring, and secure environment where every child can develop individually, motivated to reach their full potential, enabling them to be confident, make choices, question, explore their world, and ultimately become happy, independent individuals.

Children are encouraged to build strong, independent foundations through secure relationships with parents and key staff members. Kindness and respect are promoted within the "Humpties family," ensuring children learn to interact effectively with peers and adults through social and emotional development.

The learning approach is centred around what excites and encourages children, aiming to unlock their potential with highly qualified staff providing well-planned, play-based learning experiences. The nursery acknowledges that children develop and learn at varying paces, providing a calm, secure, and stimulating environment where they can progress with guidance from expert staff.

A broad range of activities, from Forest School to Pre-School and Physical Education, is offered to stimulate and nurture all-round development.
