About this day nursery
Springburn Childcare in Hungerford provides year-round care for children from birth to four years old. The day nursery was rated Good by Ofsted in August 2024. The inspection report noted that leaders have a clear understanding of what they want children to learn and that staff support their physical development well. Parents who spoke with the inspector praised the progress their children make in communication, independence and social development. Staff are also recognised for bringing stories to life to help children learn new words.
The day nursery offers children a range of outdoor experiences. Babies can learn to balance on different surfaces in the garden, toddlers can use an obstacle course, and older children have access to a large field for running. Staff work with parents and the special educational needs coordinator to arrange early help for children who need additional support. To improve, Ofsted suggested the nursery review the organisation of routine times and help staff plan more opportunities to extend children's learning.

SEND provision
Staff work closely with parents, the nursery's special educational needs coordinator and other professionals to ensure early help is swiftly put in to place. This shared approach supports all children to make good progress, including those who need additional support to catch up with their peers.
Outdoor space
All children have many opportunities to use their bodies in different ways. For example, babies learn to balance on different terrains in the garden. Toddlers bend, balance and climb as they negotiate an obstacle course in the garden. Pre-school children have great fun using the open space in the large field to run.

Springburn is such an amazing nursery. My son has been here for 18 months now and I’m So glad I chose this nursery. My boy loves going to nursery which makes it even better! The management are great and responsive. The nursery assistance are great and reassure me if I ask questions. I would recommend this nursery to anyone 💙

Springburn is a great place and our daughter thoroughly enjoys her time there each week. The team are friendly and nothing is too much trouble. There is a good variety of food and toys, whilst the activities they put on have helped her grow so much as a person. We also love receiving daily individual progress updates. Would highly recommend Springburn to anyone!

My daughter has loved Springburn since starting when she was about 5 months old. She is always desperate to get in and get on with things when I drop off and comes out at the end of the day with a big smile on her face. The staff are lovely, helpful and very accommodating. I would highly recommend!

An excellent nursery, which has helped nurture and develop my two children. My late-august born son has thrived at school through having been given an excellent start at Springburn. My youngest comes home every day with a beaming smile and has developed close relationships with all the carers who have worked with him. I recommend it highly to anyone who asks.

Beautiful nursery! We travel 80 miles a day just to take our boy to Springburn and wouldn’t want him anywhere else. This is his third setting due to moving and then accidentally choosing a bad place. He loves to go, loves to come home, enjoys every day, is very happy and is developing as he should. I highly recommend it but if that isn’t enough, go for a visit and see for yourself.
