Squeakies Nursery, established in January 2015, offers bespoke education and care in Leicester. With a highly dedicated and experienced team, the nursery prioritises a warm and safe learning atmosphere, celebrating diversity and promoting equality.
The setting boasts extensive grounds, allowing for much of the learning to take place outdoors, featuring a kitchen garden, den-building areas, a sensory space, and a brook, all designed to provide natural learning experiences. The curriculum is deeply rooted in nature, fostering enhanced cognitive function, improved mental and physical health, and the development of social skills through child-led play within natural environments.
Squeakies also emphasises healthy eating by growing its own fruit and vegetables in a kitchen garden, involving children in the process from planting to harvesting. These fresh ingredients are used in the three meals and two snacks provided daily, with dietary requirements catered for and free access to milk and water.
The nursery additionally offers funding options for all ages, including the ability to stretch funding if needed, and provides guidance for parents on accessing Tax-Free Childcare.
Our ethos
Squeakies was born and developed from our love of nature. It is widely known that learning in nature offers numerous benefits, enhanced cognitive function, improved mental and physical health and the development of social skills. Natural spaces encourage child-led learning, where children are given the freedom to decide how they will learn… muddy puddles to jump in, sticks to build dens, tree canopies to shelter under. Added to that the wildlife, ladybirds, beetles, slug and snails, we have an abundant canvas to feed our children’s imagination.

If there was 6 stars squeakyBs deserve it!! We have been part of the SqueakyBs family since 2019 and have had the most amazing care throughout this time. As a first time mum back then, it was daunting leaving your child for the first time but SqueakyBs provided such a home from home environment that my daughter settled so quickly. Two years later and second time round my son joined as a lockdown baby having had very little contact with anyone outside our family unit but he was welcomed with open arms, kindness and reassurance. Thanks to SqueakyBs both my children have grown to be independent, happy and confident children. My daughter (now in year 1) transitioned so well into school because the team and her key worker ensured she had everything she needed for her first day at school. The whole team are very approachable, regardless of experience and have answered all our questions and provided us with reassurance on many an occasion. We are on a term time contract but the management team are always accommodating with extra sessions when we need them which has been invaluable. A huge thank you to the whole team at SqueakyBs. Keep up the amazing work!!
Read on GoogleWhat a fantastic nursery. Five stars just aren’t enough. The staff are all so friendly and create such a nice atmosphere, it’s a home from home for my little one. You know you’re onto a winner when your two year old shouts “yay nursery” as you pull up and talks about the staff all the time. They use the Famly app which is brilliant for keeping you up to date with what your child is up to during the day, including naps, food, toilet trips etc. The team give you loads of opportunity for constructive feedback and welcome any suggestions. Manager Debbie or Deputy Alison are always available and happy to help. I can’t recommend this place highly enough. Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for taking such good care of our Archie 💖
