About this day nursery

Squiggles Pre-School in Cheshunt focuses on preparing children for future developmental stages by fostering motor skills, cognitive abilities, and positive social interactions. The preschool prides itself on offering a warm and supportive environment where children feel secure.

They provide a range of activities specifically designed to encourage growth, allowing children to achieve social, emotional, and physical milestones naturally through cooperative play and creative engagement. Before a child starts, they are offered a visit to the preschool with a parent or carer to help them become familiar with the routine, staff, and other children, ensuring a smooth transition.

Upon starting, each child is assigned a key person who acts as a primary contact for parents, provides feedback after sessions, and helps the child feel safe and settled. This key person also serves as a vital link between the preschool, the child, and their home environment.

Daily activities are carefully chosen to provide both familiar experiences and new opportunities to extend learning, incorporating elements such as sand, water, play dough, puzzles, construction toys, a creative area, painting, role play, and a quiet book area. Additionally, children have opportunities to participate in musical activities, cooking, and outdoor play.
