About this early years setting

St Brendan's Parish Playgroup is located in Corby and provides care for children from two to four years old. It operates from Monday to Friday during term time, with sessions running from 8.45am until 3.15pm. The playgroup offers funded childcare places. Following an inspection in March 2025, Ofsted rated the playgroup as Good. The inspector reported that children are happy, feel at home, and quickly settle into the range of activities, demonstrating high levels of enjoyment and engagement.

According to Ofsted, the curriculum is well thought out and meaningful to the children. Staff support communication and language development and teach children about healthy eating and oral health. For children with special educational needs and/or disabilities, staff work with parents and other professionals to provide support through strategies such as regular progress reviews. Outside, children are supported to develop physical skills and cooperation by creating obstacle courses and drawing with chalks in a 'mark-making den'.
