Inclusion & environment
Support for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) is strong. Staff swiftly identify any children at risk of falling behind and work effectively with other professionals, including speech and language therapists, to help children achieve their goals; all children's progress is closely monitored.
Children enjoy fresh air and exercise daily, running games such as hide and seek and tag, using climbing equipment and balancing on tyres to develop physical skills and imagination. Staff provide outdoor mark making and gardening activities (raking, watering, sowing seeds) that support physical development and early science and counting skills.
Communication and language development is a high priority for all children, including those who speak English as an additional language; staff engage children with books, storytelling, songs and rhymes and introduce descriptive vocabulary.
