Verbatim quotes recorded in the Ofsted inspection
Parents are highly positive about their children's development, especially in confidence and language skills.
Parents confirm how well they work with others to share ideas and information, especially to support children with SEND.
Inclusion & environment
Those responsible for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) know them and their families well. The manager ensures that staff use funding effectively to meet children's individual needs and ensure an inclusive setting.
Children climb, balance and use a slide outdoors, developing their control and coordination. However, planning in the outside area is not as effective as that indoors, especially when all children are out together.
We initially had our first daughter attending two nurseries due to shortage of spaces. It became increasingly evident from her mood in the morning that she much preferred Stonecroft. We subsequently moved her over to Stonecroft solely as soon as we could. I really feel our daughter has benefited from how the integration between the different rooms is managed. So when she moved up to toddlers she didn't feel overwhelmed and was able to settle immediately (not an easy feat based on the 2 YO in question!). The staff have provided an excellent teaching programme and I have been so surprised by the skills she has learnt for such a young age. These are also skills that just generally make everyone's life easier (i.e. putting shoes/coat on, washing hands, pulling down/up leggins/pants). They have managed to teach her these skills so much faster than I ever could by myself. Thank you Stonecroft! :) The food is also generally really good and they do make an effort to make sure they are well fed upon collection. The staff also enjoy taking the kids out to the park, softplay and even santa. Do not let the current Ofsted fool you; this is an outstanding nursery run by an excellent group of staff. Our daughter has loved attending the setting and it will be a very sad day when she leaves.
Read on GoogleBoth my son's have attended Stonecroft from a young age. One from just over a year old and one from 10 months old. The care and education that the team provided is superb. They work above and beyond to provide everything you would hope for from a nursery, which is just what a parent hopes for when they leave their little one in another care setting other than home. The site is perfect for indoor and outdoor play and education. Meals are varied and healthy and my boys have tried food that I wouldn't have thought to try them on which is fantastic. Seeing them develop under the guidance of the team has been lovely. The added attention they give to preschool children to prepare them for their transition to school is second to none. My eldest son really benefitted from this last year when he started primary school. I cannot fault the nursery at all. The whole team does a fantastic job and I really believe any child that attend this nursery can only thrive from what is provided to them. Highly recommended.
Read on GoogleMy daughter started in this nursery with 3 years old coming from Portugal and barely speaking English. The staff was amazing and really helpful. Today She is an English fluent. She really loves to go to Nursery every single day and She is coming home happy and full of stories to tell. She loves the food, actually she is always saying that she only likes vegetables at school (ahahah). I'm really happy with the nursery and I will recommend it to everyone I know.
Read on GoogleBoth of our boys have attended Stonecroft Day Nursery since they were 8 months old. All of the staff feel like an extended family, our boys are very settled there and really enjoy going (both go 4 days a week). The food is healthy, prepared fresh daily and is a balanced menu. The boys love the morning fruit snack time too. The staff have great relationships with the children and our boys certainly feel safe and very loved. The outside space is fab and the mud kitchen is a fave with our 2! An online journal is used and it's lovely to see their learning and developmental steps being added regularly so we can keep track of how the boys are progressing as well as being able to add in progress we see at home. We dread the day we'll have to say goodbye to everyone there.
