About this day nursery

Summerhill's Little Treasures, established in July 2008 and OFSTED-registered, provides a diverse range of childcare options for children aged 6 weeks to 11 years. The nursery is thoughtfully structured with four distinct rooms to cater to different age groups and needs: the Orange Room for babies up to 2 years, the Green Room for funded 2-year-olds on a sessional basis, the Purple Room for 2-year-olds requiring flexible sessions, and the Yellow Room, which serves as a pre-school offering 15 and 30-hour provisions, alongside a full day care wrap-around service for children attending Summerhill Primary Academy.

This integration with the primary academy ensures a seamless transition into school life, as staff members are part of both teams. In addition to full-day care, the nursery also operates a breakfast club and an after-school club.

Located in a purpose-built facility, Summerhill's Little Treasures is committed to delivering a high-quality childcare and educational experience. Their flexible service is designed to support the varying needs of working parents.

The dedicated staff foster a warm, welcoming environment, planning a wide array of age-appropriate activities that adhere to The Early Years Foundation Stage framework, ensuring children engage in meaningful learning experiences. The nursery operates five days a week, from 8 am to 6 pm, with limited Early Bird sessions available from 7:30 am and 7:45 am, closing only for bank holidays and two weeks over Christmas.

Absolutely disgusted with how this has been handled. We were told our child would start on the 15th as part of a "staggered" intake, despite repeatedly explaining she needs smaller groups and has SENCO support. At our 1:1 on Sept 3, we were told 8th or 10th might be possible, but no one ever confirmed. It's now the 8th, and we've had zero communication. This means she'll likely start in the largest group, exactly what we said would overwhelm her. Poor planning, no follow-up, and complete disregard for her needs. This has ruined her first experience before it even began.

Our daughter has been going here for a little over 12 months now. She is extremely happy here and has brilliant relationships with all of the staff who all seem to adore her. The staff are engaging, friendly and provide updates on a user friendly app throughout the day including some photos. We have also attended a couple of parents evening where they give updates on her development. She has progressed so well since starting here. Can't fault them.

My daughter has been here for around a year now since she was 8 months old. As a new mother I was nervous about putting my child in nursery because of all the horror stories you hear but a friend recommended little treasures. They have an app which gives you regular updates like meals, nappie changes, activities and observations, so that always put my mind at ease. Now my girls 19 months old and absolutely loves it she's learning so quick and I believe it's because of the great work the girls at little treasures do. She eats her meals never fussy because the nursery give her a varied diet, I would recommend this place to anyone looking!

We just called the nursery to see if they had any placements, a woman put us on hold but forgot to mute the phone and started moaning about the number of people who are calling in asking about after school placements at the nursery at such late notice, a colleague muttered something under her breath and agreed with how stupid it is. (presuming they mean -we- are the stupid ones after they forgot to mute the phone) We've been trying to contact the school and nursery for the last few weeks with an absolute 0% success rate of speaking to a human being, seeing as our little one starts soon we wanted to get everything in place, but so far the school give no guarantees about anything and the nursery are incredibly rude and abrupt. While I understand she probably doesn't like her dead end job, there was no need to be so rude. When they came back to the phone we told them to forget about it, if simple things like this aggravate their staff, goodness knows what goes on when the children get on their nerves!

nursery was alright, weren’t the best, the prices of snacks and lunches are unreasonable, for what they’re receiving (asda smart price) the kids get left to cry and hysterical, don’t really interact with the children ( have seen it for my self) some of the staff can be really rude. wouldn’t really recommend this nursery there are way better nursery’s in the area
