About this day nursery

Sunbeam Day Nursery is in Leeds and provides care for children from birth to five years old. The day nursery accepts funding for working parents of children from nine months old. Ofsted inspected the nursery in March 2024 and judged its overall effectiveness to be Outstanding. The inspector reported that knowledgeable and caring staff know the children well, planning engaging experiences in a stimulating playspace with abundant resources. Children were observed to be curious, show perseverance, and have exemplary behaviour.

According to Ofsted, the support for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) is excellent, with a knowledgeable coordinator developing precise support plans. Staff also successfully support children who speak English as an additional language, using routines and rhymes to build their language skills. During outdoor play, staff encourage physical activity, with older children participating in focused sport. Routines such as dressing for outdoor play are used to promote language.

We aim to provide a caring, safe and stimulating environment where children can play and learn. Where each child can be embraced and encouraged to develop their own unique self. We offer a variety of resources but understand that children learn best through play and interaction, so no opportunity is wasted! Our mission is to provide a ‘home from home’ environment where children’s needs come first. Staff work in partnership with parents/carers and outside agencies (when required) to ensure that every child has the opportunity to reach their full potential, in fun and safe surroundings. Pricing & funding

Charges are structured around morning (8am - 1pm), afternoon (1pm - 6pm), and full-day (8am - 6pm) sessions. Fees are differentiated by two age groups, covering children under two years in the Baby & Toddler Room and children aged two years and older in the Pre-School Room.
