The curriculum, which has been quickly and securely embedded across the nursery, benefits from the newly appointed manager's ambitious and enthusiastic approach, including innovative methods like 'in-the-moment planning'. Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) are fully supported, with a passionate SENCO ensuring swift intervention and progress through carefully crafted support plans and close collaboration with parents.
The nursery places a strong emphasis on communication and language development through activities like singing and storytelling, alongside excellent mathematical development focusing on counting, number sequencing, and shape recognition. Both indoor and outdoor learning environments are utilised to provide a comprehensive educational experience.

Inclusion & environment
Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) are fully supported. The special educational needs coordinator (SENCO) is passionate about her role and helps children make the best possible progress. Systems are in place for swift intervention, and support plans are created for children. The SENCO works closely with parents to support them in seeking the help they need.
The inspector observed the quality of education being provided, indoors and outdoors, and assessed the impact on children's learning.

Sunflowers Tree Day Nursery registered in 2015. The nursery employs 13 members of childcare staff, with 11 holding appropriate early years qualifications at level 2 or above. The nursery is open from Monday to Friday, all year round, except for bank holidays and one week at Christmas, with sessions from 7am to 6pm. The nursery provides funded early education for two-, three- and four-year-old children.
