The preschool operates with the philosophy of discovering and fostering each child's unique capabilities, ensuring they feel secure, content, and actively involved in their learning journey.

Children are encouraged to communicate, explore, and share through play-based activities. The curriculum is thoughtfully planned, progressive, and tailored to individual children's knowledge and interests, incorporating observations and assessments.

The preschool emphasises providing varied activities to cultivate independence and self-confidence while promoting development across all learning areas outlined in the Early Years Foundation Stage documents. They maintain strong relationships with parents, caregivers, and other agencies, uphold principles of equal opportunity, and instil British values.

The close proximity to the primary school and shared play areas facilitate smooth transitions for children progressing to reception class, with physical education sessions also held in the primary school's facilities.

Inclusion & environment

How they support every child

SEND provision

Staff make referrals to other professionals where there are concerns about a child's development. They continue to monitor the children closely to identify any further support they may require. This approach ensures that children receive the right level of support they need.

Outdoor space

The curriculum covers all areas of learning. However, staff do not ensure that the curriculum is fully embedded in the outdoor environment for those children who prefer to learn in the natural world. This results in occasions when children do not get access to meaningful experiences as they play outdoors.
