My little boy has been attending Tamsin’s Little Acorns in Newbiggin for six months now, and I honestly couldn’t be happier with our experience.
At first, I thought I would feel worried and uneasy about sending him to any setting, but the staff are absolutely outstanding and those worries quickly disappeared. Now, I have complete peace of mind watching him go in each day. In fact, he puts his arms out with a huge smile the moment a staff member comes to the door, happily waving goodbye to me; which says everything about how safe and loved he feels there.
It’s clear to see that the staff genuinely love their jobs and truly care about every child. They know each child inside out, their likes, dislikes, and little quirks and the relationships they build with them are wonderful to witness. The warmth and dedication from the team really stand out.
The staff have also shown me a huge amount of understanding and empathy as a parent. No question is ever treated as a silly question, their communication is always quick and reassuring, and they have never judged any anxieties I’ve had as a first-time parent. They take the time to listen and support not just the children, but the parents too; it truly feels like one big family unit.
My little boy comes home every day having taken part in a wide variety of activities. The setting follows the curiosity approach and learning through play, and they deliver this exceptionally well. Since starting, he has come on leaps and bounds physically, socially, emotionally, and intellectually.
I honestly cannot thank every member of staff enough for the care, support, and encouragement they give. I couldn’t recommend this setting more highly for anyone looking for a nurturing, engaging, and truly special place for their little ones.

My son has been at Tamsin’s since he was 13 months old and I can’t recommend highly enough. My son loves going to nursery and all of the staff have went above and beyond every day to make sure my son settled in and they know exactly how to care for him and what he likes. We’re now a year and a half in and he is so happy there. The development that the setting has supported in my son is astounding, every member of staff there is made to be in childcare as they genuinely love and care for your little ones like their own.
As a working family it is so comforting to know he’s in such amazing hands while we’re at work - thank you all!

My daughter has been attending The Den Nursery setting since she was 8 months old and she’s now 18 months, and I honestly couldn’t be happier with the care and support she’s received.
The progress she’s made in that time has been amazing. The staff have helped her develop so well — from learning to walk, to eating a wide variety of foods, and building her confidence around other children. Her social skills have come on so much, and it’s clear how much time, patience, and encouragement the team give to each child.
The staff are kind, attentive, and genuinely care about the children. It’s great receiving all the pictures of what she’s been up to each day on the app and lileya really loves coming here. I would highly recommend them to any parent looking for a nursery space.

The Den has been amazing for our little girl. She has come along leaps and bounds since starting there and is very comfortable with all of the lovely staff. We were very anxious about our little girl starting nursery and the staff team put us at ease and are just so lovely. Our little boy will be starting in April and we know he is in safe hands and will enjoy it just as much as his sister does. Thanks again to all the team at the Den!!

The best nursery you could ever send your child to. I would highly recommend this nursery. The ladies that work at the nursery and Tamsin the owner are brilliant. I have every confidence that my child is well cared for each day he goes to nursery. They take lots of photos for you to see on the app. They give a great handover. And the food provided is healthy and a good variety for your child to try. Highly recommend this nursery.
