About this day nursery

Teddies Nursery, established in 2022, is a welcoming childcare setting in Leicester, offering full-day care for children aged 1 to 4 years. Open all year round, Monday to Friday from 7:30 am to 6 pm, the nursery closes only for Christmas and bank holidays.

Parents, visitors, and children consistently receive a warm welcome, with staff dedicated to understanding each child's individual needs and preferences. New children benefit from tailored settling-in sessions to help them feel safe and adapt to the nursery environment.

The curriculum is designed around children's interests and developmental stages, ensuring engaging and progressive learning experiences. Staff are committed to meeting the needs of all children, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND).

They effectively use observations and assessments to identify learning gaps and collaborate closely with parents and other professionals to secure additional support, which ensures every child makes good progress. Outdoor play is a key feature, where staff encourage consideration and care among children; older children often hold hands with younger ones, helping them count steps and safely participate in games.

Mealtimes are calm and relaxed, fostering independence and an awareness of food allergies. The nursery also actively prepares children for their next stage of education, building their confidence and fostering a positive attitude towards learning.
