Teddies Tots Nursery in Watford is a well-established childcare provider that has received national recognition, including being a winner of the National Day Nurseries Top 20 Nurseries in the South East. The curriculum is carefully planned to meet individual needs, informed by the skilled staff's observations and reflections.

Staff are dedicated to supporting child-initiated and spontaneous play, ensuring children are challenged and make excellent progress. The nursery maintains high standards for its team, with all staff Enhanced DBS Checked, holding current Paediatric First Aid and Safeguarding Certificates, and continuously updating their knowledge through Ofsted-recommended courses.

Daily fresh meals are prepared on-site by their nursery cook, Tracey, who holds a 5-star rating from Watford Council for the kitchen. Facilities include separate areas for babies, toddlers, and pre-schoolers, along with separate sleep rooms and an indoor soft play area for physical activity, even in bad weather.

Conveniently located near public transport and major motorways, Teddies Tots also offers perks for parents, such as half-price or complimentary gym memberships for full-time children's parents at their on-site gym. The nursery is led by Director Rita Ashton, who is deeply involved in the daily operations and fosters a flexible and approachable environment.

Our ethos

Our beautiful setting places great emphasis on making the Nursery warm, kind and loving, where special care is taken to ensure that each child feels nurtured and cherished. We fully realise the vital necessity of guiding children well in their formative years; thus, by means of warm, positive encouragement we stimulate children’s natural enthusiasm for life and their desire to understand the world around them. Careful planning will take into account each child’s individual needs, informed by sensitive listening, observations and reflection by our skilled staff. Staff will support child-initiated and spontaneous play exceptionally well, and because they will know children’s needs they will be able to ensure that all are challenged and helped to make outstanding progress. My vision for Teddies Tots has always been to create a Family atmosphere in a warm and inviting nursery. We are a family-run establishment and hope to give Parents a feel that it is a home from home atmosphere.

What it's like

Children are happy and relaxed in the calming environment staff provide. Children develop warm relationships with all staff and feel comfortable, confident and valued. Children make good progress and enjoy an ambitious curriculum of well-planned activities based on their learning needs and interests.
