The Ark Nursery and Space Out of School Club, established in 2002 in Hebden Bridge, provides childcare for children aged 0–11 years. The setting achieved an Outstanding rating in its latest Ofsted inspection on 24 November 2022.
Children benefit from a highly qualified and dedicated staff team who foster a safe and secure environment where children feel listened to and excited to learn. The nursery prioritises excellent progress for all children, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND).
A knowledgeable SEND coordinator works closely with families and agencies to provide timely interventions and targeted support, utilising additional funding to ensure any learning gaps are promptly addressed. The nursery boasts an exceptional outdoor environment with dedicated "woodland explorers" areas for younger children and regular forest school activities for pre-schoolers, fostering an appreciation for the natural world and developing practical skills like using tools safely and building dens.
Communication and language development is a key focus, with staff using repetition, word recall, and encouraging children to create their own stories. 30pm.
