The Barn at Riverbank, established in 2020 in Stockton-on-Tees, provides childcare for children aged 0-4 years. Open all year round, Monday to Friday, from 7am to 6pm, the nursery creates a welcoming and friendly atmosphere that helps children settle in easily.
The latest Ofsted inspection, on 2nd December 2022, rated the nursery as 'Good' overall. Children show a positive attitude towards learning, engaging with activities such as making juice and taking pride in their achievements.
The nursery offers an exceptionally well-resourced outdoor environment where children of all ages explore with interest and confidence, developing balancing skills and imaginative play. Staff are described as exceptionally caring and nurturing, comforting babies with soothing tones.
A key feature of the nursery is its robust support for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), working closely with parents and other professionals to ensure individual needs are met. The team places a high emphasis on developing communication and language skills, speaking slowly, introducing new vocabulary, and encouraging engagement.
Parents highly praise the nursery, highlighting how the management and staff go "above and beyond" to provide a warm, home-from-home environment. The nursery also promotes a love of books by reading with different tones, encouraging questions, and organising visits to the local library.
The management team and staff are a cohesive unit, dedicated to helping children achieve their best.
