Inclusion & environment
Staff quickly identify children's needs and any gaps in their learning. They take action to ensure children receive the timely help or support they require. This helps to ensure children with special educational needs and/or disabilities continue to thrive in their development.
Children have plenty of opportunities to be physically active throughout the day. They benefit from time spent outside in the fresh air, particularly in the enchanting and well-thought-out garden. They have space to run and climb, practising their balance and coordination skills.
My child started attending The Children's Workshop in September 2017, at 2 and a half years of age. I was delighted by the warm welcome we received on the first day in the Buds room. My child loves being outside, so The Children's Workshop was a natural fit, especially with the forest school which is run in the afternoons. I chose this Preschool due to its caring atmosphere, central location together with the interaction with the local community. My child has thoroughly enjoyed litter picking, the visits to the library and visiting elderly locals. I would highly recommend this Preschool.
Read on GoogleOur son has been so happy at the Children's Workshop, he has really developed immensely under the guidance of those who work there. We have been so proud of his confidence and relationship building, the settings and activities are vast. He is now set up perfectly for primary school.
Read on GoogleFrom the moment we stepped foot into the nursery our son felt instantly comfortable and at home. The Children’s Workshop is like a family and has a very different feel to some of the other nurseries in the area. The staff show such love, care and understanding of the children; they plan activities based on the children’s interests (we particularly liked an update on Tapestry showing the children making dung beetles - a particular favourite of our son); they are very good (and non-judgemental) at addressing children’s individual and additional needs; they do regular updates on your child’s progress on Tapestry and they have a very holistic approach that puts an emphasis on social skills such as being kind and the children having fun. It always makes me laugh when I am in the play park with my son and all the children literally scream and flock the staff when they try and leave the nursery to go home! It just reinforces the lovely relationships that are formed at the nursery. Our son had a difficult transition into nursery, not only having been in lockdown and lacking social skills but also due to family illness. The nursery have been so supportive and have helped us develop strategies together and manage this consistently. They have also helped us to find outside agencies and courses to support us and the communication with the headteacher, nursery’s SENCO and key worker has been brilliant. We always have a very detailed, funny, warm chat with the Office Manager every time we ring up, which also shows how every member of staff has a relationship with the children and parents. TCW have shown our family considerable care and compassion when we have had issues at home and always work to do what’s best to support us all. We have alway feel like we are part of the family and that our son is safe, loved and well cared for. We have also been impressed at their calm and lack of judgement when our son has been involved in incidents and the professionalism that they have shown. I thoroughly recommend TCW and we think it truly is a lovely community gem!
Read on GoogleThe Children’s Workshop - in central Sevenoaks - is a very special place. Two of our children have spent happy years here in the care of the most wonderful team of exceptional, kind and experienced practitioners. Children at the preschool are nurtured, loved and looked after with great care. Children attending the workshop develop a love of the outdoors - come rain or shine, they spend most of their time in the outdoor space bordering Knole Park and enjoy daily forest school sessions. Beyond the outdoors, the children enjoy an enriching programme of activities which prepares them well for school and life beyond the classroom - as open-minded, curious and respectful individuals.
Read on GoogleWe are absolutely thrilled with the children’s workshop. 3 YO will have done both years and sibling due to follow. The staff are simply the best - they are so kind, cannot do enough for the children and care for them like their own. The setting itself is beautiful- the outdoor space is incredible, with large woodland area for children to learn and play in nature. I really can’t recommend enough for those seeking a Sevenoaks preschool for 2-5 year olds.
