The Cottage Day Nursery in Bristol provides care for children aged from one to four years. It is open from 7.30am to 6pm throughout the year, excluding public holidays. The day nursery offers a range of government funding schemes for eligible children from nine months old up to the age of four.

The nursery received an overall judgement of Good from Ofsted in its August 2022 inspection. The report noted that children arrive happy and eager to play. The curriculum is organised to blend adult-led and child-initiated activities. In the garden, children can play on a large wooden structure and use crates and other materials to build obstacle courses. The inspector highlighted that support for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities is a strength, and mentioned that parents praised the support given to prepare older children for school.

SEND provision

Support for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities is a strength of this nursery. Staff quickly identify children who may need support and communicate well with parents. The special educational needs coordinator works alongside other professionals to ensure that children receive the support that they need.

Outdoor space

Children have opportunities, both indoors and outdoors, to build on their physical abilities. Older children run around the garden and climb a large wooden structure. They use crates and large junk modelling to create challenging obstacle courses.

I couldn't wish to send my daughter to a better nursery every one is so lovely and at only 9 months old she does so much we already have lots of lovely art to put on our walls and the care they give is second to none.
