About this day nursery

The Little Ripley Day Nursery, established in 1999, provides a warm and inviting childcare setting for children aged 0-5 years. Open Monday to Friday, 7am to 6pm, all year round, the nursery supports children arriving happy and eager to engage in learning.

The curriculum is thoughtfully designed to use children's interests to develop their skills, with staff knowing children and their families well to build on what children already know and can do. Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) receive good support, with staff working closely with parents to incorporate additional help into practice, ensuring all children make good progress from their starting points.

The nursery places importance on self-care, with children encouraged to wash their hands and faces and supported to be independent during routines like mealtimes. Outdoor learning is a key part of the provision, where children use the outdoor area to develop physical skills through activities such as running, using the climbing frame, and playing peekaboo.

In preparation for school, children learn to recognise the letters in their name. The staff maintain a consistent approach across all rooms, calmly guiding children, for example, by helping them understand how to ride bicycles.

Leaders and managers are highly ambitious for the setting, and their passion is evident in the staff and their practices.

I honestly can’t recommend this nursery enough. From the very beginning, the team have gone above and beyond to support not just my son, but me as his Mother. The staff here have been nothing short of incredible – patient, understanding, and completely dedicated to helping him thrive in his own way. They’ve created a safe, nurturing environment where he feels accepted and confident. His communication, confidence, and overall development have come on in leaps and bounds since starting here. They’ve worked closely with us, always keeping me in the loop and providing thoughtful, tailored support. It’s such a relief to know he’s in a place that sees and supports him for who he is. I’m so grateful to have found this nursery – it’s made all the difference.

My daughter attended here from the age of 2 years old. I can not fault the nursery or staff one bit, professional and friendly and I know my child is in good hands. She loves it, and that’s the main thing. They were excellent in comforting my daughter when settling in and also great with communication regarding any information I needed to know. They have helped educate and mould my daughter into the little girl she is and getting her ready to move onto nursery school. Best nursery in great barr I am always recommending this nursery to people. Thankyou little Ripley staff!

I have two children at little Ripley old oscott Hill. My son who is 4 has been there since he was 6 months old and I can honestly say the staff are brilliant with him and have taught him so much. He loves going to nursery and will genuinely miss it when he starts school this September. My baby daughter is now at the same nursery and is starting to settle so I'm more than happy. I would 100% recommend this nursery to care for your children.
