About this day nursery

The Montessori School offers a nurturing environment for children starting from 2 years old, with limited availability for those from 18 months. They provide a comprehensive Montessori curriculum enriched with a variety of specialist visiting teachers for subjects like Music, Dancing, French, Drama, Gymnastics, Yoga, and Sports.

The school offers flexible session options, ranging from three half days to full-time care, with choices for both term-time only (38 weeks) and extended care (47 weeks). They accommodate diverse schedules with various start and finish times between 8:00 AM and 6:30 PM.

Located in both Balham SW12 and Wimbledon SW19, the school also runs "Tea Time for Toddlers" for children aged 18 months and up with an adult, and "The Toddler Community" for 2-year-olds to attend independently in the afternoons. Additionally, The Montessori School is accredited to provide teacher training in Montessori and Early Years Education, and offers a Primary/Prep School collection service with aftercare for children up to 8 years of age.

How they support every child

SEND provision

Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities flourish. Staff fully understand children's complex needs. Their exemplary teaching skills mean they are able to adapt routines and activities to ensure that all children are able to take part. Children access a smaller room with dedicated staff to work specifically on their social and communication skills. As a result, all children become skilful communicators.

Outdoor space

The inspector observed the quality of teaching during activities, indoors and outdoors, and assessed the impact this has on children's learning.
