The Tot Stop Early Years Centre, operating since 2005, provides a nurturing environment for children aged 0-4 years, open from 7:30 am to 6 pm, Monday to Friday, all year round (excluding one week between Christmas and New Year). Children are happy and confidently engage in activities, developing independence as they progress.
The setting effectively supports children, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities, ensuring they meet planned targets and make good progress. Staff work collaboratively with other professionals to provide additional support, sharing plans with parents and discussing children's progress regularly.
Pre-school children particularly excel on the outdoor apparatus, where they are encouraged to climb carefully and wait for others, fostering an understanding of risk and social awareness. Children show good behaviour, understand expectations, and are excited to participate in activities, patiently waiting for instructions.
They develop strong relationships with staff who know them exceptionally well, and stories are read at children's request, with children becoming engrossed and remembering key phrases. Staff maintain high expectations for children's abilities and behaviour, inspiring them to try new things and behave well.
Communication with parents is a priority, with regular discussions about learning and development, supported by an online app offering ideas and activities for home learning.

How they support every child
SEND provision
Children, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities, are well supported. Staff ensure that children meet their planned targets and make good progress, working well with other professionals to ensure all children get the additional support they need. Support plans are shared with parents, and children's progress is discussed regularly.
Outdoor space
Pre-school children excel on apparatus outside and pre-school children are reminded outside to wait for others to climb apparatus first. Staff remind children about risks, such as climbing carefully outside.
