About this day nursery

The Udder Pre-School & Day Nursery, established in 1999 and family-run, is situated in an idyllic farm setting in Little Oakley, Corby. The nursery provides care and education for children aged 1 to 13 years, operating 51 weeks a year, from 8 am to 6 pm.

They offer various nursery sessions and a play scheme during school holidays to cater to local families. A key feature of their approach is the full utilisation of their 50 acres of farmland, which extends to additional neighbouring land, along with a dedicated forest school located in a woodland clearing.

This unique environment allows children to engage in "blue sky experiential learning," fostering hands-on learning within the natural countryside. The nursery maintains higher than required staff-to-child ratios, enabling them to offer a range of extracurricular activities such as farm walks, egg collecting from chickens, and daily baking.

The dedicated and qualified team focuses on providing a unique experience that helps children develop social skills, confidence, and an understanding of the world, preparing them for a smooth transition to primary school.

Our ethos

We are based on an idyllic farm setting, and are a family run nursery. We make full use of our farm surroundings which includes 50 acres of farmland plus additional neighbouring land, and a forest school which is based in a clearing in the woods. In a safe and stimulating environment the children participate in what we call 'blue sky experiential learning' whereby the children learn hands on in our natural countryside environment. We promise to take the best care of your children and provide them with a unique experience which will give them the social skills, confidence and knowledge and understanding of the world they need for a smooth transition to primary school.
