Our ethos
We believe that children learn through play and our curriculum is play based to follow the guidelines of the Foundation Stage in education as issued by the Early Education and Childcare Unit. Through purposeful play and adult supported activities, the children learn various concepts and are encouraged to share, take turns, and develop independence skills. Greatham Village Nursery seeks to provide quality and consistency in the setting, a secure foundation through planned learning and development opportunities, working in partnership with other practitioners and parents, and equality of opportunity and anti-discriminatory practice, ensuring every child is included and supported.

Fees are structured as an hourly rate based on the child's age, covering ages from 9 months up to 4 years. Additional fees apply for snacks per session, with an extra charge if the nursery has to provide them. Hours outside of standard grant timings are charged at the standard hourly rate.

How they support every child
SEND provision
Staff work well with other professionals, including those who have involvement in children's learning and care, establishing a two-way flow of information which creates a consistent approach for children, particularly those who require additional support.
Outdoor space
Children explore the outdoor environment, observing newly fallen snow and how it melts. They also develop their core strength and coordination in the garden by walking along wide beams made from crates.

Greatham Village Nursery is a wonderful place to send your children, for the staff are very kind and warm and look after the children with the utmost care. Both my children attended as I was very keen on the nursery's work in teaching children about conservation, highlighted by the Awards the nursery has won from Jane Goodall’s Roots & Shoots for doing so. What an incredible place for a child to commence their education. Thank you 💚

We first moved this direction when our son was young and started looking for a family friendly nursery. With a nursery background myself I was particularly fussy, but I was very pleased when I came across Greatham Nursery. They were so helpful; it had a lovely feel when I viewed and the location is perfect. My son attended from 2 years until he started school and his sister is currently in the pre-school there. One of the best things about the nursery is the staff. My son still talks about the teaches he had, they have left a wonderful mark on his early years life and continue to do so with my daughter. I would not hesitate in recommending Greatham Nursery. ⭐️

Both my children attended this nursery from 9 months right through to school. The staff are so lovely! We were sad when our nursery journey came to an end. It has a real community feel and particularly great if your child is thinking of attending the local primary.

This is a wonderful nursery. On viewing the nursery a year ago, we were very impressed with how clean it was (and continues to be) and the space of the classroom and outdoor area in which our little one plays in. The staff are evidently caring and the owner is very flexible. Our little one has made significant progress especially in speech since attending, also increased self-confidence.
