The nursery’s manager is dedicated to offering the best opportunities for all children, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND).
The experienced Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo) conducts thorough assessments, and the nursery collaborates effectively with other agencies to support children's care and well-being. The curriculum, designed by the manager, ensures a ‘golden thread’ of knowledge, skills, and understanding that children build upon as they grow, preparing them for school.
The nursery also fosters strong partnerships with parents, offering regular updates and support, such as a lending library for home reading. The manager's dedication to providing the best possible opportunities for all children, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities, is admirable. The special educational needs coordinator is experienced and thorough in her assessment of children's needs. There is excellent partnership working with other agencies and professionals to ensure that children's care, well-being and support needs are swiftly supported.
Children of all ages develop good physical skills. For example, children in the toddler room carefully pour liquid into cups and carry a full cup across the garden without spilling it. Pre-school children move in a variety of ways during their dance class, such as tapping their feet alternately and spinning around on the spot.
We couldn’t be happier with our experience at Thornhill Day Nursery. From the very beginning, the care, professionalism and genuine warmth shown to our son has been outstanding. He absolutely loves attending nursery, and as a parent there is nothing more reassuring than seeing your child excited, happy and settled in his environment. The nursery provides a safe, nurturing and stimulating setting where children are supported both emotionally and academically. We’ve seen significant growth in our son’s confidence, communication and independence since he started attending. A huge thank you to Sharna and the preschool team for their dedication, patience and genuine care. It’s clear they are passionate about what they do, and it truly shows in the way the children thrive each day. We are thoroughly pleased with Thornhill Day Nursery and would highly recommend it to any parent looking for a caring, supportive and high-quality nursery.
Read on GoogleHighly recommend — the best experience we’ve had so far. Our little one has been attending this nursery since she was 11 months old, and she absolutely loves it. She is so well cared for, and we are incredibly grateful to all the lovely ladies who work here. A special thank you to Sahira, who has been amazing from the very start. She is kind, caring, always smiling, and incredibly attentive to our daughter’s needs. Our daughter loves her and the bond they have is so special. It’s such a comfort knowing our child is in such loving and capable hands. I’d also like to thank Becky who has been especially helpful and responsive, which makes everything run so smoothly
Read on GoogleOur daughter has been happily attending the nursery for almost 2 years now. From our first visit she was excited about the place thanks to the lovely setup of entertainment offered for children. The team helped our toddler develop love for play, good manners and ability to share. Her key worker Jemma has been taking great care of her and is always ready to provide extra feedback. As parents we appreciate daily updates on what their little ones have been up to during the day with pictures shared in the app. We also love a focus week feature where the team observes a child more closely to track their development. Thanks to the staff members for always being so positive, welcoming and accommodating.
Read on GoogleOur son went to Thornhill and loved it, so naturally we knew we were going to send our daughter when she was 1. She loves going and has such a bond with the staff in Toddlers, especially Misbah and Kiah. They are attentive and genuinely love looking after the children. My daughter has had health issues for a few months and Misbah and Kiah are in constant contact with me each day with updates when she’s in nursery. They really care about the children’s well-being. The nursery as a whole are amazing and have such a great team who are approachable, helpful and have a great bond with the little ones 😊 We wouldn’t pick another nursery!
