Tiddlywinks Day Nursery, part of the Tiddlywinks Nursery Group, has been providing childcare in Greater Manchester since 1994. Founded by Imelda and David Mihell, the group has expanded to include seven nurseries and four out-of-school clubs, collectively caring for over 800 children daily.
They aim to offer a 'home away from home' where every child's unique needs and interests are met through a child-centred approach. The curriculum is guided by the Early Years Foundation Stage framework, ensuring balanced development in an engaging and supportive atmosphere.
The nursery prioritizes healthy eating with carefully designed menus and considers outdoor play a crucial part of its curriculum, seamlessly extending learning into secure outdoor environments. Tiddlywinks is dedicated to delivering high-quality care through a dynamic team that embodies commitment, acts as inspirational role models, and brings passion to early years practice.
They accept various government funding sources to support families with childcare costs. The nursery group encourages prospective parents to tour their facilities to experience their environment firsthand.

Inclusion & environment
All children, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities, are gaining the skills they need to be ready for school. Leaders are aware that some children's starting points may vary depending on their individual experiences and have considered how to deliver the curriculum for children in receipt of early years funding.
The inspectors observed the quality of education being provided, indoors and outdoors, and assessed the impact this was having on children's learning.
I remember my anxiety levels with the thought of finding a suitable childcare provider to look after my son, soon as I stepped into Tiddlywinks I just knew this was the one!!!! Management were professional and approachable, allowing me to have a truly wonderful ‘look around’ experience. My son and niece both attend and they are flourishing. All the staff work extremely hard to provide OUTSTANDING childcare, catering to each child’s individual needs. The rooms are inviting, child friendly and always clean and fresh. The company itself, provide so many enjoyable experiences, such as trips and celebrations- the children even had a visit from Minnie and Mickey Mouse on their 30th nursery anniversary. The menu is nutritious and caters to all children’s specific dietary requirements. I would 100% recommend Tiddlywinks- I know quite a few of my friend’s children have joined already. Keep doing what you’re doing !! Thank you x
Read on GoogleSuch a wonderful Nursery with welcoming staff from the moment you walk into the building until the moment you leave. The children appear happy and thriving with clear bonds and attachments for staff caring for them. My nephew runs into Nursery with a big smile on his face and the handover when I pick him up is so detailed, even though they have an app for parents to refer to their child's day.
Read on GoogleMy daughter attends Tiddlywinks, we have an older daughter who attended a different nursery so we were apprehensive on our youngest attending a different nursery, however these were all washed away very quickly. Our daughter is thriving here, the facilities are fantastic. The bonds the staff build with the children and how adaptable they are to support is second to none. All the staff we encounter are friendly but huge shout out to baby room who look after our little one and always on hand.
Read on GoogleHygiene levels are not the greatest. Most toys that I have seen are very old dirty and broken Some of the staff are very unprofessional. Closing time is 6 o’clock unfortunately half past 5 you already see the Hoover and mop out , in my opinion that is something that should not be happening while you come to collect your child . Each room mainly smells like dirty nappys Pegs for children are so unorganized so your child’s belongings always go missing . It’s a shame since everyone told me tiddlywinks was a very high standard nursery . I now understand why OFSTED only gave a “good” rating.
