About this day nursery

Tiddlywinks Day Nursery Group, established in 1994 by Imelda and David Mihell, has grown from a single location into a network of seven nurseries and four out-of-school clubs across Greater Manchester, providing care for over 800 children daily. The group champions a child-centred approach, tailoring experiences to each child's individual needs and interests within the Early Years Foundation Stage framework.

They emphasise creating a 'home away from home' through a fun and supportive environment. Key aspects of their philosophy include commitment to high-quality care delivered by a dynamic team, inspirational interactions that foster role models, and a passionate approach to early years practice.

The nursery also prioritises healthy eating with balanced menus and integrates outdoor play as a crucial part of its curriculum, extending learning beyond indoor spaces to secure outdoor areas. Parents benefit from an online childcare app for managing fees, accessing information, and streamlining application processes, ensuring transparency and ease of communication with the nursery.

Wonderful nursery and the most thoughtful, caring and professional staff at all levels. They go above and beyond and I know my child is in safe hands. We are nearly at the end of our nursery journey now and I will be very sad to have to say goodbye as I’m sure my daughter will be too. She’s made some amazing friends and bonds with children and staff alike.

Both my niece and nephew attended this setting and I could not recommend it enough. I loved picking them up from nursery and hearing all about their day. The activities they offer the children are fantastic and really develop the children’s learning. Both my niece and nephew are thriving in big school and a big thank you to Tiddlywinks for giving them the best start in their learning and setting them up for big school.
