Leaders and staff work with parents and external professionals to make sure that children with special educational needs and/or disabilities receive appropriate support and funding. They secure additional resources and use them effectively to help children take part in pre-school activities and remain safe. Children with SEND are supported by on a one-to-one basis, by staff who are guided in their roles by leaders. Tailored strategies are in place to support children with SEND to make progress from their starting points. This ensures barriers to learning are reduced and children receive targeted support that reflects their individual circumstances and needs. Additional funding is used effectively to support children's individual needs and parents are involved in decisions about how funding is used.
Pre-school children move freely between indoor and outdoor spaces to suit their interests. Staff plan a range of outings in the local community, including visits to a local orchard and walks to the local postbox, which helps to widen children's experiences. Children spend time outdoors daily. They make pretend cakes in the mud kitchen, build castles using recycled materials and help plant seeds.
