Actions the provider must take

  • Lack of targeted and focused curriculum and teaching. Support for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities is particularly inconsistent.
  • Staff need support to implement consistent routines and transitions within the nursery. Visual timetables and flash cards are not being used consistently by staff.
  • Leaders do not ensure that staff follow good hygiene procedures. Children are allowed to share foods, despite being poorly. Staff wipe their own and children's noses without washing their hands.
  • Some risk assessments do not consider all the hazards in the environment, such as hanging wires and cleaning products in children's reach. Not all staff know the correct procedures to follow when serving foods to children with allergies.
  • Curriculum design and implementation are not good enough. Leaders do not have a clear understanding of what they want children to learn and do not adapt and sequence the curriculum to consider the differing needs of the children.
  • Although there are support plans in place for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), these are not implemented. Strategies suggested by leaders, such as visual timetables and objects of reference, are not used consistently.
  • Not all staff have a good understanding of how to adapt their teaching and the curriculum for children who have barriers to their learning, such as those who speak English as an additional language and those with SEND. Additional funding is not targeted at the individual needs of those it is allocated to.
  • Aspects that have not been identified, resulting in numerous breaches to requirements, such as a child being served their allergen without Ofsted being notified. Significant inconsistencies in the quality of teaching.

How they support every child

SEND provision

Support for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities is particularly inconsistent. These children spend a lot of time in solitary play, flitting around the areas and are not supported to develop the skills identified in their learning plans.

Outdoor space

Children enjoy the outdoor area and access a variety of resources. Staff support children to use mark-making tools to draw themselves and others, pointing out key characteristics and helping children to foster a sense of identity and learn about what makes them unique.

EAL / language support

Not all staff have a good understanding of how to adapt their teaching and the curriculum for children who have barriers to their learning, such as those who speak English as an additional language.

We couldn't be happier with our experience at Tiny Star Day nursery. Our son spent around 2 years here, and it has been an incredible journey. The staff are not only professional and caring but also genuinely passionate about the children's development and well-being. From the very first day, we felt welcomed and reassured. The teachers are exceptional, creating a warm and nurturing environment that made our son feel comfortable and happy every day. Their dedication and enthusiasm are evident in every interaction. Our son has thrived here, making wonderful friends and developing essential skills through the engaging and well-structured programs. The activities are both fun and educational, fostering creativity, curiosity, and a love for learning. We highly recommend Tiny Star Day Nursery to any parent looking for a safe, supportive, and enriching place for their child. Thank you to all the amazing staff for your hard work and for making our son's early years so memorable and enjoyable!

I would rate this nursery 10 stars if they were. The staff is really helpul ,they will always put extra attention and dedication ,answer everytime you call to check in or help whenever you need something extra for your little one . The manager is extremely helpful aswell . The space inside is really well organised and clean . Food is served throughout the day and its a very rich menu . They do different activities depending on seasons and festive periods. I would recommend this nursery to every parent. Its one of the best in the area .

I can't describe in enough words how grate this place is ... my twins settled from the first day , the place is so big and clean, a lots of toys to please every child and very safe the care is grate and the ladys r amazing... I would recommend a million times this center and I don't think is any better. To leave your children there would bring happiness and joy .😊

Ofsted report 2026 - "needs attention" SEND: "They have introduced visual timetables and flash cards to support children. Children with SEND spend a lot of time wandering around, not engaged in play or learning of any purpose."
