Inclusion & environment
Leaders have improved support for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND). They work with outside agencies to secure specialist advice and act on recommendations. Leaders have also employed additional staff whose dedicated role is to provide one-to-one support for children who need this most. Leaders have effectively strengthened the way staff adapt learning and provide targeted support. This enables children with SEND to take part fully in activities and make good progress alongside their peers.
The inspector observed the quality of education being provided, indoors and outdoors, and assessed the impact that this was having on children's learning.
We went in to register our children today after already paying our deposit. Upon signing the paperwork we noted that the nursery still charges parents for bank holidays despite being closed meaning parents who have there children looked after on a Mondays could potentially be paying £300+ a year and getting absolutely nothing in return. When I raised this to the duty manager i was fed incorrect information for the reasons behind this, she stated "its because we still have to pay our staff on bank holiday", being a manager and having a HR background i know that bank holidays are automatically classed as a compulsory annual leave days which all businesses budget for (basically she was suggesting that parents are expected to pay for there staff to have a days holiday) really, is that fair? I will say that this review is not a reflection on the facilities or the staff at the nursery to which i would give top marks to.
