Children arrive happily and enjoy coming to this warm, welcoming nursery. They explore all areas of the stimulating and well-organised environment. Children benefit from a range of activities that appeal to their age and stage of development.

Inspector highlights

  • The dedicated manager is highly skilled and has high expectations. She has designed an ambitious curriculum with a strong focus on supporting children's independence and developing communication and language skills.
  • Staff are warm and caring to children. All children have a key person and staff know their key children well, helping them to thrive and make good progress.
  • All children behave well and become pleased with their own achievements. They begin following simple and more complex instructions and have a clear, embedded routine.
  • Children who speak English as an additional language are supported well, with access to books in their home languages and staff learning British Sign Language.
  • Partnerships with parents are strong, and the manager seeks parents' views regularly to make improvements.

How they support every child

SEND provision

Staff actively seek support for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND). They have detailed knowledge of the very specific needs of each child and work closely with parents, the local authority and a range of outside agencies to agree and constantly update individual care plans. All children, including children with SEND, make good progress from their starting points.

Outdoor space

Children have many opportunities to build on their learning outside and to develop healthy lifestyles. They eagerly use the extensive, well-planned outside area and build on prior learning from inside in the new woodland area.

EAL / language support

Children who speak English as an additional language are supported well. For example, parents share common key words in their home language. In addition, children have access to books in their home languages and staff are learning British Sign Language, to further support children's language development.

Both of my daughters received excellent care from under the age of 1 all the way up until they left to start school. A fantastic setting with lovely caring staff, with great spacious rooms and a huge garden! Both of my daughters were sad to leave and have taken away with them amazing memories. Could not recommend them enough.
