Staff excel at getting to know children and their families, even providing resources to support transitions like the arrival of new siblings, which children proudly share.

They are also responsive to children's emerging interests, using them to extend learning and encourage sensory exploration, such as smelling flowers. Children behave well, understanding nursery expectations like ‘walking feet’ and ‘kind hands’, and are offered opportunities to develop independence, for example, by serving their own food and drinks during mealtimes.

However, the report noted that staff do not always offer clear instructions when children are getting ready for outdoor play or during handwashing. Parents commend the friendly staff and the strong relationships their children build with their key person.

The nursery provides home learning packs to support learning about feelings, shapes, and letters. Leaders ensure staff have access to extensive e-learning and internal training, including specific training for working with babies, enhancing their understanding of the key person's role.
