About this day nursery

Treetots Childcare, located in Bournemouth, was founded by best friends Rachael and Laura, who together envisioned a setting deeply connected to nature. They believe that regular exposure to the natural world fosters happier children and enhances learning by heightening their senses, thereby boosting creative and imaginative play.

The nursery aims to provide children with opportunities to engage with nature through walks, listening to birdsong, cultivating herbs and flowers, and preparing their own meals. Indoor learning incorporates natural materials and wooden toys, while creative development is encouraged through activities like painting, singing, dancing, storytelling, sewing, weaving, and bread making, all designed to create a tranquil and enriching experience.

Both Rachael and Laura bring extensive experience to Treetots. Laura, initially a teaching assistant for children with autism, pursued a PGCE and spent five years as a primary school teacher.

Rachael dedicated eleven years to day nurseries, achieving NVQ Levels 2 and 3 in childcare. After six successful years as childminders, they decided to establish Treetots Nursery to bring their shared philosophy to life.
