About this day nursery

Warren Childcare Centre in Bedford, established 47 years ago and re-registered in 2020, offers a welcoming and nurturing environment for children aged 2 to 4 years during term time. The centre operates Monday to Friday, with sessions from 9am to midday and midday to 3pm, including an optional lunch club.

The setting places a strong emphasis on fostering independence and practical skills, preparing children for their transition to school.

Staff at Warren Childcare Centre are highly attuned to the individual needs of each child, particularly those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) and those who speak English as an additional language (EAL), offering sensitive support to help them participate in activities and interact with peers. The curriculum is thoughtfully designed to reflect children's interests, promoting their learning and development in all areas.

Parents consistently praise the centre, noting its 'family-like' atmosphere and the effective communication from staff regarding their children's activities and progress. While children enjoy playing in the outdoor area, the nursery is working to further extend outdoor opportunities to fully support the development of children who prefer to be outside.

The centre also helps children develop their communication skills by introducing new vocabulary and simple sign language, although staff are being further supported to give children more time to think and answer questions.
