"they appreciate how staff provide experiences for their children, which they may not get at home, and acknowledge how this contributes to supporting their children's learning and development."
Inclusion & environment
Some children who have already been identified as requiring extra help are not always supported by staff to maintain and sustain their focus in their play, which means they do not always make accelerated progress in their learning as do their peers. Staff need to improve their understanding of how to use their teaching skills further to help these children engage more in their learning.
Children have plenty of time and space to choose what they want to play with and where, such as being inside or outside. Children are supervised well both inside and outside the building.
My son attended Weaverthorpe just before he turned 3 years old to leaving for school. He had a great time and developed so much in his time there. They play all day indoors and outdoors. The staff are really friendly and supportive and everyone takes the time to get to know your child. The child's key worker is always on hand to talk to and they will update you on their progress, e.g. toilet training, socialising and their interests. The preschool does lots of extra activities like P.E. sessions, baking, arts and crafts, outdoor learning, nativity, summer fair, reading week, pet week, book club, children in need, parties etc. In the last year they really support your child get ready for school. Would highly recommend!
Read on GoogleMy son has attended Weaverthorpe Pre-school for the past year before he starts school in September. The centre is a lovely place for children to play, indoor and outdoor with lots of different activities to cater for all children. The staff are just amazing, they are very attentive and really get to know all the children and encourage their personal interests. PE session's, outdoor learning along with special guests, parties and events are some of the added extras that the kids really look forward to. They have great communication and I was always updated with how he was doing and what he might need to work on. I would strongly recommend sending your child to Weaverthorpe. Thank you for all you have taught my son and how well you have set him up for school.
