The provision is rated as Outstanding by Ofsted, an outcome confirmed during its latest inspection on 18th February 2025. Children are met with enthusiasm by friendly staff and confidently say goodbye to their parents, benefiting from highly effective settling-in arrangements and a well-established key-person system.
This ensures a happy and smooth transition through the various rooms. Staff are attentive and know each child exceptionally well, allowing them to create engaging and exciting activities.
The curriculum is ambitious, built around "promises" made to the children, and incorporates Makaton deeply to support communication skills. This approach has also positively impacted children's behaviour, particularly for those who cannot yet communicate verbally.
Additional funding is used effectively for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), ensuring all children, including those with SEND, make excellent progress. The Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator actively supports children with SEND.
Both indoor and outdoor learning experiences are observed, with staff planning a range of activities to broaden children's experiences, such as visits to a local kitchen and ice-cream vans. The nursery continuously reflects on its practices, even moving rooms based on parental feedback to support toilet training.
Children are encouraged to develop self-care and independence skills, and enjoy a wide range of stories, with some activities centred around a story of the month. Highly focused professional development ensures staff are well-supported, which contributes to their morale and the high quality of care provided.
