How they support every child

SEND provision

The special educational needs coordinator spoke to the inspector about how they support children with special educational needs and/or disabilities.

Outdoor space

Babies and toddlers explore a variety of activities in their outdoor areas, such as rolling hoops and rocking on moving toys. However, while older children play in the sandpit and build obstacle courses outdoors, staff have not fully considered how to extend their learning in the garden, which sometimes lessens their excitement about going outside.

My daughter has been at Wendover day nursery for around 6 weeks. She has come on leaps and bounds since starting. She absolutely adores seeing her little friends in baby room 1, as well as her teachers, who are always welcoming and happy. She eats healthy, nutritious meals at nursery, and they provide everything including her formula and nappies.. the staff are so caring and I couldn’t imagine my daughter in any other setting!

They have been absolutely amazing with helping my 3 year old settle into a new environment as it was his first time attending nursery. He loves going to nursery he is just full of joy and happiness it's such a relief for us to know he is well taken care of and happy. Staff are amazing, friendly and approachable. It's a home from home environment with lots of light and space indoors and outdoors. Children are just children with not a care in the world just learning through play. They also provide home cooked meals and cater for allergens/preferences. My child likes the food too as he nearly almost finishes all of it, which is a bonus! Highly recommend!

Our daughter has been at Wendover Day nursery since July and we couldn't be happier with our nursery choice. The staff are so friendly and my daughter loves them all, she is always so happy to see them. We get regular updates and photos of her days there and regular feed back on her growth and development. We would highly recommend the nursery to everyone.

We couldn’t be happier with Wendover Day Nursery. We have a 1 year old in the baby room and a 2 year old in the toddler room who have flourished since attending. The staff are all very warm, friendly and professional and we feel we are kept updated sufficiently with lots of detail. They run wide range of stimulating activities with the children indoors and also lots of time is spent in the fantastic outside space. Our children were previously with a wonderful childminder so we were apprehensive about a nursery, especially as it had newly opened, but we feel it has exceeded our expectations.

If you had told me this time last year that my clingy lockdown baby would toddle happily into nursery each day I would never have beloved you! Thanks to Wendover Day Nursery’s lovely caring staff, calm and stimulating environment and the constant exciting activities they set up for the children, my daughter is delighted to spend time there. The nursery offered generous time for settling in and they have been welcoming and genuinely caring. The rooms and outdoor space are lovely environments, all created with the children in mind. I like the detail on the Famly app they use as I always know exactly how long she has slept for and what she has eaten. And speaking of food - I feel pretty jealous when I read her menu each day. The nursery go to great lengths to set up fun and messy activities and they provide lots of outdoor time. Staff are very trustworthy and seem to really enjoy seeing the children. I can go to work relaxed. It was a risk choosing a brand new nursery with no reputation but I have only good things to say and feel we made the right decision.
