Rather than isolated nature excursions, Wild Explorers provides consistent, long-term outdoor sessions tailored to each child's evolving needs.
Our ethos
When you take time to explore nature with a child, you will discover that their natural curiosity will lead you to what really interests them. As their genuine interests grow, you can encourage them to research more by touching, feeling, smelling, crunching and splashing! Outdoor learning takes education out of the classroom and into the natural environment, using it as a unique tool to acquire knowledge and develop skills. Our forest school is a ‘classroom without walls’; it allows child-led learning, supported risk-taking, exploration and play. Forest schooling and outdoor learning is an ethos that promotes creativity, confidence, self-esteem and independence. It is not a one-off day in the woods, it is a series of long-term sessions in a unique setting that builds on the needs and developments of the children.

Inclusion & environment
Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) receive good support. Staff identify any emerging needs quickly and work closely with parents and the local authority to develop individual plans. This helps children with SEND to work towards small achievable goals and make good progress in their learning.
Children spend most of their time free to explore the outdoors in a secure and supervised environment. A cabin is used at times, for example mealtimes, to provide a warm and safe indoor space. Staff teach children to assess and manage their own risks in play, such as understanding to drag large sticks across the ground to keep everyone safe.
