Our ethos

When you take time to explore nature with a child, you will discover that their natural curiosity will lead you to what really interests them. As their genuine interests grow, you can encourage them to research more by touching, feeling, smelling, crunching and splashing! Outdoor learning takes education out of the classroom and into the natural environment, using it as a unique tool to acquire knowledge and develop skills. Our forest school is a ‘classroom without walls’; it allows child-led learning, supported risk-taking, exploration and play. Forest schooling and outdoor learning is an ethos that promotes creativity, confidence, self-esteem and independence. It is not a one-off day in the woods, it is a series of long-term sessions in a unique setting that builds on the needs and developments of the children.

What it's like

Children play and learn happily, spending most of their time exploring outdoors in a secure and supervised environment. Staff provide diverse and engaging activities, encouraging children to take risks, develop physical skills, and show care for one another.
