About this day nursery

Willow Tree Day Nursery provides high-quality childcare and early education for children from 6 months old until they begin school. The day nursery aims to foster a love of learning and development through engaging activities and by encouraging children to use their imagination and creativity with natural and everyday objects.

The nursery is designed with two main spaces: the "Seedlings room" for babies and the "Growzone space" for older children, which is divided into areas tailored to their needs. They also facilitate mixed-age group interactions when beneficial.

Key skills like independence, strong communication, confidence, and pre-writing abilities are integrated into their daily curriculum to prepare children for school. The nursery welcomes children from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, Monday to Friday, and operates for 51 weeks of the year, closing for one week at Christmas.

Our ethos

We believe all children have something to learn from each other so when it's appropriate to do so, we do bring mixed age groups together. Within our rooms you will find natural and everyday household objects that will encourage your child to use their imagination and spark their creativity. Also forming part of our core day to day curriculum are the key skills that every child needs to prepare them for starting school: independence, strong communication skills, confidence and pre writing skills.

What it's like

All children are greeted warmly by caring practitioners when they arrive at the nursery. They settle in quickly and make choices in their play, demonstrating that they feel secure. Children explore their environment eagerly, inside and outdoors, developing fine motor skills and early literacy. Young children practise gross motor skills and enjoy trips into the local community.
