About this early years setting

Windmill Pre-School Marsworth is a newly established setting that opened in March 2025, catering to children from 9 months old. The pre-school focuses on providing a stimulating and engaging environment where children are grouped into "Rising stars" (9 months-2 years), "Rainbows" (2-3 year olds), and "Windmills" (children in their final academic year before primary school).

A typical day at Windmill Pre-School Marsworth includes a welcome at 9 am, a morning session with adult-led group time, free play, and a healthy snack around 10 am. Children bring packed lunches and eat together under supervision, followed by more free play.

Afternoon sessions mirror the morning's structure, concluding with tidy-up time, carpet activities, stories, and songs before collection at 3 pm. The pre-school emphasises a free-flowing and flexible approach, with varied activities, themes, and educational content daily to ensure continuous engagement.

They also offer enriching extra-curricular activities such as Tot Bop, Yoga Peaches, and Tinymites music at no additional cost to parents, supported by fundraising and grants. The curriculum is brought to life through hands-on learning experiences, including observing life cycles and visits from community professionals like police officers and nurses, aiming to provide a comprehensive and "school-ready" experience for the children.

Our ethos

At Windmill, we are passionate about bringing learning to life and we support this by offering the children opportunities for hands on learning, such as watching caterpillars turn into butterflies, eggs turn in to chicks, frogs spawn into frogs and so much more! To support our topics and themes we also have visits from professionals, such as real life police officers, vets, nurses and shop keepers!
