Wise Owl Private Day Nursery in Scunthorpe offers exceptional care and education for children from birth to five years. The day nursery prides itself on an inclusive, nurturing environment that extends to out-of-school clubs for children aged 5 to 12 during school holidays.
Rather than an abundance of plastic toys, Wise Owl Nurseries prioritises real-life objects and natural materials to foster exploration and discovery. A strong emphasis is placed on outdoor learning and Forest School principles, ensuring children engage in significant outdoor activities within the nursery's gardens.
The setting promotes a calming, home-like atmosphere with neutral colour palettes, creating a space where children can thrive. With a long-standing reputation for high-quality childcare, the nursery boasts a team of highly qualified and dedicated professionals, ensuring children are in safe and capable hands.
They also embrace heuristic play and animal care in their services, and use a parent app for communication with families. The nursery is structured into age-specific rooms: Owlets (0-2 years), Owls (2-3 years), and Wise Owls (3-5 years), each designed to cater to the developmental needs of the respective age groups.

Inclusion & environment
Staff recognise when children need additional support to make progress. They develop partnerships with parents and other professionals, so children get the help that they need. An effective key person system ensures consistency of support for all children.
Outdoors children enjoy filling buckets with water from an outside tap. They try hard to work the tap themselves and ask for help when they get stuck. They find their own wellies and waterproof suits. Children exclaim, 'I did it' when they put their jackets on themselves. Staff respond saying 'well done'. Children develop their independence and self-esteem. The inspector observed the quality of education being provided, indoors and outdoors, and assessed the impact that this was having on children's learning.
Our settling in with our little one had a bit of a rough start, but with thanks to Kate and the team in the baby room Chase is now settled and happy with big smiles when we collect him. We have no worries leaving him for the day knowing that he's got such lovely staff working with him. All the staff are warm and attentive, there is a lovely family feel to the unit with warm smiles and friendly conversation on drop off and pick up. Fresh cooked food every day, lots of activities and a weekly roundup sent to parents so we know how to help develop him at home in line with what he's learning while there. Enrollment was easy, the communication via the app is fantastic. We can't wait to continue our Wise Owls journey!
Read on GoogleOur grandson has been attending this nursery. They have been exemplary in the care and attention they have showed (especially Kate) helping him settle in and build a routine. Always patient, kind and offering advice when asked for. Thank you so much, we definitely made the right choice when choosing this nursery.
Read on GoogleMy daughter attended Wise Owls in the baby room. She loved attending and really made fantastic bonds with the staff who work there. She would come home and talk happily about her day and her favourite staff members. Wise Owls kept me up to date with the learning she was doing and they regularly checked in with me as a parent. Her speech improved massively while attending and I was very pleased with her progress. Would highly recommend!

Read on GoogleBeen with wise owls now since April 2023 and my daughter loves going. We have had a lot of change since 2023 but it's better than ever! She loves all the staff, and I can just tell when i see her there and see her with the staff that she just loves it. The staff are amazing not just with Millie but with me aswell. I as a parent have built a lovely relationship with them. The nursery has really had a huge turnaround over the last few months, it's looking great and when you walk in all you see is learning activities, mood boards, paintings and drawings which I love to see. I would highly recommend wise owls to anybody.
