Provide healthy balanced and freshly prepared meals
Wishing Well preschool nursery, established in the early 1970s and taken over by Lynn and Linda in 1994, moved into a new purpose-designed building in Waltham Abbey in January 2016. The nursery provides childcare for babies and children aged from birth to 5 years, striving to create a happy and secure foundation during these formative years.
Embracing diversity, Wishing Well ensures every child and adult feels welcomed, valued, and accepted, regardless of their background or personal characteristics. The nursery operates with a commitment to traditional family values, offering a 'home from home' atmosphere where children are cared for and encouraged to develop as individuals.
The dedicated staff teach by example, fostering good social and eating habits during shared mealtimes. The setting follows the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) guidance, focusing on themes such as 'A Unique Child', 'Positive Relationships', 'Enabling Environments', and 'Learning and Development', with a pedagogical approach centred on playing, active learning, and critical thinking.
Our ethos
We recognise that some children and adults are treated unequally for lots of different reasons, perhaps because of the language they speak, how they behave, the colour of their skin or even where they live. We believe this is wrong and aim to ensure that every child and adult who visits and uses our setting will feel equally welcomed, valued and accepted. Our vision is to create a happy and secure foundation for children in their formative years celebrating differences and to create and maintain a working partnership with the parents where you feel included as a part of the community. Our nursery offers a 'home from home' environment for children aged 3 months to 5 years where they are cared for and motivated to grow as individuals. We aim to provide child care based on traditional family values.

Inclusion & environment
All children, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities, make good progress in their learning. Staff are patient and nurturing. They support children who speak English as an additional language well. Transitions through the nursery are smooth and children adjust to their new environments quickly.
Children access books freely, inside and outdoors, and staff read to them throughout the day. Staff engage children in friendly chatter as they make their choices of activities outside.
Such an amazing team and a lovely nursery, they look after our little one year old boy and I really can't say enough nice things about them. The site is located in a nice quiet cul de sac, easy parking and you can see they've got lots of nice toys to play with. We get regular updates via an App, they take the children on little adventures when the weathers nice, but most importantly everyone on the team really does seem to care about our little guy and from what I can see they have a really put together a brilliant child-care team. Its not easy as a new parent leaving your little one with someone else, so cant thank the team enough for everything they do and happy to say for any enquiring parents you're definitely looking at the right place here (we checked a whole bunch, and not all are equal that is for sure!) Thank you and keep up the good work!

Read on GoogleBy far one of the best nurseries. All 4 of my sons have been here and all of them happy and given the best start by amazing caring staff members. Lynn and Linda’s passionate about working with special needs children which I can confidently say is very rare to find. The staff are all very professional and polite.
