Children are encouraged to be excited participants in daily activities, such as pre-schoolers confidently discussing their drawings or collaborating to build a ′boat′ from cardboard boxes. The nursery provides targeted support for children with SEND through a small ′STRIVE′ group, with staff continuing this support in group rooms to reinforce learned skills.

Staff receive specific training in SEND, enabling them to quickly identify developmental needs and put additional support in place. The quality of education is observed across various indoor and outdoor activities, with a focus on impact on children′s learning.

Children are challenged by staff who know them well, with effective planning to promote their learning journey. Staff actively promote independence skills across all age groups and encourage children to lead their own play, fostering confidence and perseverance.

Furthermore, staff across all rooms actively promote children′s developing communication and language skills, supporting their vocabulary and ensuring clear understanding of expectations.

SEND provision

Children with SEND have targeted support to make friends and play alongside others in the small 'STRIVE' group. Staff continue this support in the child's group room to help them develop the skills they are learning. Staff receive training in SEND, which helps them to quickly identify if children are not developing as expected so that additional support can be put in place.

Outdoor space

The inspector observed the quality of education during various activities, indoors and outdoors, and assessed the impact on children's learning.
