How they support every child

SEND provision

Leaders and managers work closely with staff to plan a curriculum that aims to support individual children's progress towards next stages in their learning. Through regular assessments of children's progress, they identify and plan support for individual children, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), to help them catch up with their peers. The team works well in partnerships with parents and professionals to plan support for children with SEND. It uses funding effectively, for instance to meet the needs of children who benefit from sensory learning experiences.

Outdoor space

Children enjoy the regular opportunities that staff provide for them to play in the fresh air. Staff teach older children to keep safe, for example to hold the rail as they use the steps to access the garden. Babies explore splashing water as they play in the garden. Children are encouraged to be physically active.

The quality and safety standards of this nursery have dropped significantly since new management took over in April-24. My children have been coming here daily for the last 3 years, and the previous 2.5 years have been brilliant and agree with previous comments. However, in the last 6 months we've seen a significant increase in accidents and incidents at the nursery. We've been promised improvements in processes and procedures on multiple occasions but we've not seen these implemented. Just recently our daughter experienced a major injury through clear negligence and oversight, which could have been avoided if the nursery had taken action to minimise the risks which were known to them. Highly disappointed with the way this nursery is run today.

Our son started at this nursery in May this year and he has loved every minute of it. He instantly bonded with his key worker Michelle, who goes above and beyond everyday to make sure he has the best care and lots of fun. The whole team are fantastic. There is a family oriented culture and positive energy. It gives us great peace of mind to see our son happy and excited going to nursery everyday - He waves us off with a big smile every morning!

My daughter has attended the nursery for almost 2 years and has loved every minute. Connie is one in a million, she's dedicated and caring, always smiling and really loves the kids under her care. I would definitely recommend the nursery, especially for families needing wraparound care for Sherrington school.

Our daughter really loves attending the nursery; she gets to play outside nearly every day, enjoys the activities, and eats really well! The staff are excellent; very kind and affectionate.

My two children absolutely love it at the Charlton cooperative nursery. The care is second to none and both have leant so much. The staff are caring and committed and Connie is so amazing as a support system for all the parents.
